Webline Designs began in 1995 with an understanding, an understanding that the web would radically change the way we communicate, interact, and live. Over the following two years Webline put this understanding into practice building many successful web sites in a wide variety of fields. By the end of 1997, having mastered the visual art of web design, we began exploring other elements of web development, the goal being to become the complete online solution for our clients.
Early in 1998, we added hosting and basic online marketing services to our product offerings. This was quickly followed in 1999 with the successful integration of E-commerce services into our product mix. Since 1999, Webline has continued to expand and enhance these services. And, in 2001, we leveraged our knowledge of web development to begin offering intranet, extranet, and custom database driven web applications.
With the opening of our Long Island City office in April of 2001, we began the process of centralizing our design and support staff so as to better serve our growing customer base. In 2002, these efforts, as well as our continued commitment to quality services, our clients, and the communities we work in were recognized by several organizations. The Huntington Chamber of Commerce, a 1300 member organization, recognized Webline as one of their 2002 Businesses of the Year. Similarly, the Queens Chamber of Commerce, an 1100 member organization, recognized Neil Levin, cofounder and Vice President of Webline, as their Business Person of the Year.
Since 2002 we have expanded our involvement in the communities we live and work in. In addition to the work we perform in the private sector, we began to actively pursue work for charities and other not-for-profit organizations. This work is always performed either completely pro bono or at significantly reduced rates. Some of the organizations that we work with are: Council for Airport Opportunity, Discover Queens, New York City Industries for the Blind, Sutphin Blvd BID, 82nd Street BID, Shareing & Careing, Unisphere, Inc., Kenya Education Fund, The Queens Chamber of Commerce, Flushing Town Hall, The Interfaith Nutrition Network, LI Youth Mentoring, Long Island City Business Development Corporation, New Ground, and Temple Beth Torah. In addition, Webline's founders, Stephen and Neil Levin, have taken more of an active community roll as well. Neil is on the Board of Directors of both, the Long Island City Business Development Corporation and the Queens Chamber of Commerce, and Stephen is on the Board of Directors of the Queens Economic Development Corporation.
In addition to expanding our community involvement, Webline has continued to expand and enhance the services it offers. In the area of web site design and maintenance, Webline now offers, not just HTML sites, but sites integrating various combinations of the following technologies: HTML, CSS, Javascript, Flash, XML, Perl, PHP, MySQL, ColdFusion, SQL, ASP.NET, and AJAX. In the area of hosting, Webline now offers not just virtual subhosting, but full virtual hosting and dedicated hosting services including both web and email capabilities. On the online marketing side, our services have grown from simple search engine placement, to full online media campaigns including targeted email mailings, banner placement, promotions, and affiliate marketing. In addition, we now support multiple E-commerce platforms to better serve our varied client base.
To date, Webline has worked on over 400 online projects in a variety of capacities. Our team is excited to bring the experience and skills we've gained in the past 12 years to all of our future projects.
